LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Spring has sprung and so are the flowers around Livingston County. Looking to add color to your home or yard? Visit some of the locals' favorite plant nurseries below:

Raindance Organic Farm

According to their website, Raindance Organic Farm has been serving the community since 2018, growing organic produce and flowers and providing space for people to connect through agriculture and beauty.

Raindance has a bucket season that runs May 15-Sept. 30, during which visitors can purchase a bucket of blooms for bridal showers, special birthdays and more. Each bucket is $100 and will include 70+ stems. The bucket is a mix of approximately half focal blooms and half foliage and fillers in complementary palettes.

Those interested can make reservations now for events after May 14. When you check-out online, you’ll fill out a form to request your date, color scheme, etc.

Raindance is located at 2015 E. North Territorial Road in Whitmore Lake. Flowers can be picked up at the farm any day of the week. Learn more at raindanceorganic.com.

Alexander's Farm Market and Greenhouse

Alexander's Farm Market and Greenhouse carries annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, fruit trees and more. The store is open late July through October. Purchase daily-picked corn, grocery items and fresh baked goods.

The Succulents Shoppe

The Succulents Shoppe, owned by Sarah Goodwin, opened just last spring. The shop is filled with different varieties of houseplants. Goodwin also offers a DIY plant bar, where customers can fill a planter or terrariumwith a special soil mix, add decorative rocks and sand, and choose between a variety of two-inch succulent "plugs" and other plants.

The Succulents Shoppe also offers a range of services, including hosting birthday parties and private events, plus a variety of in-person workshops. The shop is located at 10607 E. Grand River Ave. in Brighton and is open 1-6 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays.

Meier Flowerland and Greenhouse

Now entering its third generation of ownership, the Meier family has years of experience in Livingston County. The shop carries garden and lawn furniture, gardening tools and an array of seasonal flowers.

Bordine's

Bordine's offers a variety of flowers and plants. The shop is located at 6347 Grand River Ave. in Brighton and is open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays. Learn more at bordines.com.

Wilczewski Greenhouse

Wilczewski Greenhouse offers a variety of hanging plants and other flowers. They can be found at the Howell Farmers' Market on Sundays. The business is owned by Kurt and Karen Wilczewski.

Wilczewski Greenhouseis located at 1260 N. Hughes Road in Howell. They're open daily 10 a.m.-6 p.m. They accept cash and check only, and will be open until the end of May or June 1.

Grasshopper Gardens

Grasshopper Gardens is a full-service garden center, offering clients a selection of plants, landscaping, gardening supplies, and outdoor decor and accessories.

They're located at 9020 Maltby Road in Brighton and are open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays. Learn more at grasshoppergardensmi.com.

J&T Todosciuk Farms and Greenhouses

J&T Todosciuk Farms and Greenhouses is located at 5611 Preston Road in Howell. According to their website, they're not open yet for the season, but can be found at the Howell Farmers' Market on Sundays.

Tulip Tree Gardens

Tulip Tree Gardens offers a variety of flowers and hanging plants. The shop is located at 15202 Roepke Road in Gregory and is open April 23-June 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.

Penrose Nursery and Greenhouse

Penrose Nursery was founded by Mark and Denise Penrose. Matt Berry and his wife, Rebekah, are the current owners, and also own Berry Farm Properties and Hartland Tree Service.

The couple offers hanging flower baskets, potted annuals, garden vegetables, herbs and tropical plants.
