there is a rat infestation so maybe they should get rid of those and getting that international baccalaureate diploma may kill me but it got me into ridiculously good schools so that’s a win

My overall experience is that school is a safe and fun learning environment where students can learn and progress in their education they do a lot of meetings through the years here at the school for college readiness but the staff may come off as non-caring if you only talk them you will be able to see how they are kind and talkative the office may seem a little overwhelming at first but becomes a regular place for a senior.

It was a good school, and I learned a lot there. The magnets all gave a sense of community, and the general experience I had with other students was that they were nice people that I could talk to and rely on.

The best part about Coral Reef Senior High is that the school environment is extremely safe. There is a lot of respect between peers and I have never seen a fight in my 4 years of attending. The worst part is that the school was generally quite dirty and ill-functioning, most notably the bathrooms.

I really enjoy the school events and activities constantly being released for us to enjoy as well as all the teachers and their efforts and patience. I particularly dislike however the fact that our school email was removed, making it so that large amounts of work is deleted, unable to be accessed using this account, causing trouble for both teachers and students.

I loved my time at Coral Reef. As a member of the drama magnet, I received a great education that prepared me well for my theatre minor in college. The teachers, save for a few, were supportive and encouraging. I could tell that they cared about us and about their subject, and that they were willing to do anything to see us succeed. I was never much of a sports person, but I know all of their girl's athletic teams are extremely successful, I enjoyed going to a few games.
As for the worst parts of my experience, none were really related to the quality of the school. A couple of the teachers were rude and belittling, and I found it difficult to enjoy the subject they were teaching, which made it more difficult for me to pass. Thankfully, I had a good support system at home and at school to help me along.
These negative aspects did not color my whole experience. Everyone at the school is part of the same 'cuda family', and that strong sense of welcoming made me feel at home there.

My child started this year as part of the VPA Academy's Band program, I'll focus on that academy's applicant process and my few months as the parent of a Coral Reef freshman.
The applicant and audition processes are very well organized, with important information made available months in advance. Do note however that VPA administration uses Instagram HEAVILY for communication and outreach, so follow them early in the process or you risk missing important info.
The marching band program brings a steep initial learning curve for both the incoming 9th graders and new band parents. There is a LOT of music to learn very quickly during a week-long summer boot camp (two weeks for percussionists). I do wish incoming freshmen were given the chance to review the game music during the summer to help smooth that learning curve a bit.
So far, what I have seen of the VPA Band program, the VPA Academy and Coral Reef as a whole is impressive. I'm very glad my child gets to be a part of it.

Most of the teachers are super friendly and helpful. There are so many resources for everything. The magnet classes are great. I am in the art magnet and my teachers have pushed the students to pursue and succeed in every opportunity. They constantly help us enter competitions and get our art work out in the community. The counselors have been really good at helping us apply for colleges and giving advice. There are so many fun events to experience with the friends you make there. It's a really good environment- all the students are really kind and smart. Coral Reef has been a great experience overall.

The best part of the school is that there are lots of different academies and classes to choose from which gives you a lot of variety. There are many different types of people you can meet and the school has a lot of diversity. There are so many different clubs to choose from which makes school fun. My only complaint is that I have had teachers who hardly showed up to school or only assigned work and it would be very frustrating. I'm someone who is able to learn material on my own but I know this can be difficult for many other students.

Coral reef is a great school for those who are gifted in the visual and performing arts. It’s also very academically challenging, but it only makes you a better student and gets you ready for college. I’ve had a wonderful time there from the students to the administration, everything has been wonderful. However, I will say, that they can work on getting better funding for beautifying the school and serving us better lunches. I will say that although that’s what I believe needs fixing, it doesn’t make it any less of an amazing school.

After graduating from this school, I could say I had the best four years in this school even thought 2 of them were cut short from Covid-19. I loved the active school spirit involvement which included seasonal pep rallies and cultural activities such as the Black History Month Drama Show and having themed dress-up weeks. Almost all teachers and staff care and challenge students to prepare you for college. One thing that could be changed though is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The mirrors are so dirty you can barely look through them and the walls are always filled with writing. Overall, Coral Reef is an amazing school and very great academically!

My experience at Coral Reef has been exceptional. Collectively every aspect of the school is amazing. The events are great and so is the diverse student body. However, the IB magnet is no joke. So only apply for it if you want the challenge.

In Coral Reef Senior High, I am in the choir program. More specifically, I am in the Rose Singers which is the highest choir. Choir has to be one of the best things about to school. I love my choir director and I enjoy the opportunities choir opens for me. We even get to travel and we will be performing in Los Angeles next year. If I had to chose a bad experience in school, it would probably be when I tripped up the stairs in freshmen year since I was rushing to get to class. Coral Reef has nothing I'd like the change. The teachers are kind, the students are friendly, and the staff is helpful!

I attended Coral Reef Senior High School from 2020 to 2024 and the experience overall has been positive. I find it an amazing school because of the diversity of the students and the range of academic opportunities the school provides. They have many Advanced Placement classes and an academy class that gives you an idea of what you will learn in that career path. Additionally, they have many extracurricular activities like sports and clubs to join. Something that i would like to see change is the electives, I think they should add more electives. Overall, my experience at Coral Reef Senior High School was a great foundation towards my academic journey.

To be completely honest, this school is an amazing school with great opportunities. You can apply and take dual enrollment classes, ap classes, honors classes, etc. The teachers are amazing and teach with great responsibility and care. My freshman year wasn't the best, because I overworked myself. I took classes I thought I could handle, but it was later revealed that I couldn't. In sophom*ore year, I decided to take a break from the ap and difficult classes and tried my best in honors. I would say I was overdue for a break. it was one of the best years of my school life and I made lots of friends. one thing that I would like to see change is the favoritism in this school. Yes, there are many kids in school so it is most likely not possible for everyone to get the best opportunities. However, there are times when some students get more than others. Other than that, this school is an enjoyable experience for anyone!
